I can remember the day when I first learned how to sew. Nine years old, I was at my grandparents' mountain home on vacation and covered in chicken pox. To distract me from the itchiness, my Nana decided to teach me how to make a doll. Her name was Beth, she had black curly hair and she wore a blue gingham dress. I was hooked.

Years later, I'm still enamored with sewing. My sewing journey has included lots of dolls, quilts and clothes as my interests have changed over time. I now primarily focus on custom home decor items such as roman shades, cushions, pillows, drapes, shower curtains, etc.

With three little ones, life is full (and lovely). I love being able to create and sew. It's exhilarating to spread out a roll of beautiful fabric, to sketch out a shade, or to handsew seams. I run a custom workroom out of my home so that I can combine family & creative life. And at the very least, I'm training my kids to love fabric stores!

The Professor and I live in North Carolina. He’s quite supportive of my love of sewing, and rightly so since I immortalized him as a doll (every man’s dream!).
